Made, checked and recorded at Chiraigaon
We have manufactured in-house since 2003. That means the formulation, the raw material, the check, the batch record and the pack are all the responsibility of one company — the one whose name is printed on the label.
Why in-house
Control is not a claim you can outsource.
Until 2003 we sold what other people formulated. When a pack underperformed in a field near Chiraigaon, the honest answer was that we did not know why. Bringing production in-house removed that answer. Today a complaint can be traced to a batch, the batch to its record, and the record to the raw material that went into it.
It also changes how we develop products. A formulation can be adjusted, made again and tried in a real field within one season, because the lab, the line and the field team belong to the same company.
The works operates under a quality management system certified to ISO 9001:2015 — written procedures, defined responsibilities, records that can be produced on demand, and internal audit of the whole loop.

Four things happen on this site
Described honestly and qualitatively. Plant capacities, line counts and site area are not published below — see the note at the end of this section.
Formulation
Liquid and powder formulations are made to a fixed in-house specification for each product, from technical material and inputs bought against an approved-supplier list.
Blending
Micronutrient mixtures, granules and dry blends are homogenised to a set process, with samples drawn from the blend before it is released for packing.
Filling & packing
Bottles, pouches and bags are filled, sealed, weighed or volume-checked, coded with the batch details and labelled with approved label copy and the technical leaflet.
Warehousing & dispatch
Finished stock is held by batch, released only after it has passed the final check, and dispatched against a record that ties the consignment to the dealer who received it.
Factory area, installed capacity, the number of lines, the list of equipment and the employee count are not published here. These details will be added once the Company supplies them.
Quality control & testing
Five checks between a purchase order and a pack
The in-house lab is not a display. Material that fails a check does not move to the next stage, and the decision is written down either way.
- 1 · Incoming material
- Every consignment of technical material, solvent, carrier, filler and packaging is received against its documents, sampled and checked before it is accepted into store. Material is bought against an approved-supplier list, not on price alone.
- 2 · In-process
- Samples are drawn during formulation and blending and checked against the in-house specification for that product. The batch is held until the check clears.
- 3 · Finished product
- The finished batch is checked before release, and packs are verified for fill, seal, label copy and batch coding. Nothing is dispatched on an unreleased batch number.
- 4 · Batch records
- Each batch carries its own record — inputs used, process followed, checks performed, results and who signed for them. The record is retained so that any pack in the market can be traced back to it.
- 5 · Retained samples
- A sample of every batch is retained at the works. If a farmer or dealer reports a problem, we test the retained sample of the same batch rather than argue from memory.
Traceability
Pack → batch → record
Quote the batch number printed on the pack and we can identify what went into it, when it was made and which checks it passed. That single number is what makes a complaint answerable.

The label is the product's contract
A pack should tell a farmer exactly what he has bought and exactly how to use it. Ours is printed to approved label copy — never estimated, never improvised at the counter.
Approved label copy
Composition, crops, dose, application method, cautions, antidote statement and manufacturer details appear on the pack as approved. The website never carries a composition or a dose that the label does not.
Batch number & dates
Each pack carries its batch number with the date of manufacture and expiry. Keep the pack, or a photograph of it, until the crop is harvested — it is the only way we can trace the batch later.
Technical leaflet inside
A technical leaflet is supplied with the product, giving the target problem, the application window and safe-handling instruction in language a field worker can follow.
Pack sizes, label images and the technical leaflet as a downloadable file will be published once the Company supplies the approved artwork.
Research & development
Modest, and close to the field.
Our development work is practical. It begins with a problem the field team keeps hearing about — a pest that is no longer controlled at the usual dose, a deficiency that shows up on a particular soil, a mixture dealers are making by hand because no single pack does the job.
From there the work is ordinary and slow: develop the formulation in the lab, make a trial batch on the line, check its stability, then put it in a farmer's field alongside what he already uses and watch both. Only what survives that comparison is added to the catalogue — which is one reason the catalogue sits at 91 products rather than several hundred.
The field team is the last part of the loop. What they report back from the season after launch decides whether a product stays as it is, changes, or comes off the shelf.

We manufacture and sell only under the approvals required for it. We will not print a number on this website that we have not been given a document for.

Nothing invented here. Licence numbers, certificate identifiers, ISO certificate details, registration numbers and scanned copies of all approvals will be published on this page once the Company supplies them. In the meantime, write to us or call the works and we will send the copies you need for your file.
Questions we are asked
Genuine packs, batch numbers and complaints
Buy from an appointed Shaktiwan dealer. Check that the pack is factory-sealed and unopened, that the label carries the Shaktiwan Agro brand with Yagyavalkya Agro Industries Pvt. Ltd. as manufacturer, and that a batch number with manufacture and expiry dates is printed on it. Refuse a loose, re-sealed or re-labelled pack, and refuse a pack with no batch number. If you are unsure, send us a photograph of the pack on WhatsApp and we will confirm it.
It is printed or coded on the pack itself, alongside the date of manufacture and the expiry date — usually on the label or near the seal, depending on the pack. Please note it down, or photograph the whole pack, before you use the product. Every quality query we handle starts from that number.
Talk to us before you re-spray. Call or WhatsApp the works with the product name, the batch number, the crop and its stage, the problem you were treating, the dose and water volume you actually used, and anything you tank-mixed with it. A great many field failures turn out to be dose, timing, water quality or a mixture, and those we can correct on the phone. If the answer points to the batch, we test the retained sample of that same batch and tell you what it shows.
Yes. A technical leaflet is supplied with the pack, giving the target problem, the application window and safe-handling instruction. Always follow the approved label copy on the pack. If a leaflet is missing from a pack you have bought, ask your dealer or contact us and we will send one.

Include the product, the batch number, the purchase details, your district and photographs of both the pack and the crop. Keep the remaining product and the empty pack — we may need them. The complaint is logged against the batch and investigated against its record and retained sample.
Yes to both. Dealers, distributors and institutional buyers are welcome to visit the Chiraigaon works by appointment, and we will send copies of our licences, registrations and ISO certificate on request. Ask by email or WhatsApp and tell us which documents your file needs.
